"Sailing around the Scottish isles is like seeing the world when it was first made – beautiful, rugged and unspoiled."
As the book goes on I find that Tracey writes in different ways. At one point, the language is very casual and easy to understand. While other parts of the book was focused on “sailor talk”, with a lot of words for machines. One thing I truly found interesting was a very short chapter completely written in bullet points. This made the chapter a very fast read that’s easy to understand also I found this way of writing very effective.
I found that this way of writing reflected the sailors focus; seeing and experiencing as much as possible instead of writing. It was like a bit of fresh air and also easier to understand this manuscript, especially considering the fact that I’m not a sailor nor have I ever been interested in boats or sailing. And all the hard word and expression only made me loose my focus. That’s why I found this easier to relate and understand that part of the story. But I wouldn't be able to read the whole book in bullet point, it would not make sense as the story would be utterly shallow.
In conclusion, I would say that body is important, but it's also very refreshing to see a different kind of writing along with the variety of writing.
